Robotic chess board (with or without auto moving feature) is very popular and some of the robotic chess boards in the market are GoChess, ChessUp 2, Millennium ChessGenius, Chessnut Evo and Phantom Chess.
The project group is a group of young engineers recently graduded from Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Material Engineering and Aerospace Engineering departments.
The aim of the project is creating a product like Phantom Chess which has a Kickstarter page and raised $1.9M in Kickstarter. This project has published their designs in the Kickstarter page. Our project group has followed their design materials to create a similar product inspired by Phantom Chess.
Raspberry Pi, 3D printed gears and arms, wooden board, servo motors and C/C++ programming language used for managing the hardware and chess software implemented and embedded into the Raspberry PI module.
This project aims to build a low-cost LiDAR scanning system using a Raspberry Pi to map the surrounding environment.
The first stage involves creating a scanner that can measure distances and generate a simple representation of nearby objects.
This will then be mounted onto a motorised platform to allow it to scan a wider area. In the final stage, the system will be developed further to enable basic autonomous navigation, using the scanned data to detect obstacles and plan paths through an environment.
The overall goal is to create a simple robot capable of understanding and moving through indoor spaces.
This project is initiated by a Year 13 A Level second year student who is preparing to study engineering in a university.
